Supreme Court to Rule on Medical Marijuana

http://news.google.com/news?q=Medica...ab=nn&oi=newsr

"The Bush administration is appealing a lower court decision allowing two California women to use marijuana on their doctors' recommendation. The administration says the federal Controlled Substances Act, which lists marijuana among the most strictly controlled drugs such as cocaine and LSD, overrides laws in nine states that permit medical use of marijuana. "

i saw the woman on CNN, i mean she listed off about 6 things that were killing her and she cant smoke a little weed? what is this world coming to?

she said no matter the administration decides she will continue to smoke.

The problem is people who are very far removed from the drug culture have no "hookups" and its damn hard for them to get weed.

You should hear the CRAZY arguemnts poeple are making agasint it. They make no sense at all and are basically fear based arguemnts.

I don't even smoke weed but they should legalize it.
WAR on drugs = more drugs.

I can feel my glaucoma getting worse already... :)

hopefully reason will prevail over intolerance and propaganda. but doubt it.

they really need to re-evaluate the drug policies in this country. insane to me that they can criminlize a plant that grows almost everywhere naturally.

Funny how the Bush administration is so in favor of "state's rights" on issues like Abortion, but they mean shit when states are starting to go against their conservative bullshit.

The Christian Taliban is at it again.

Bigwilly 11-29-2004 04:40 PM

i dont understand the war on drugs, its not a war because no matter what the government will never win

pornstar2pac 11-29-2004 05:12 PM

The great thing about this is the judges are deciding to give the 50 states power to go with what they want. they are really not voting on the weed part. just got lucky.

one was the judges wants to be in history as the judge that gave the 50 states more rights and less involvement from the feds...

BRISK 11-29-2004 05:17 PM

Leave it to the wacky 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. US Supreme Ct has been playing Whack A Mole with the 9th Circuits' rulings ever since the 70's (when the US Supreme Ct started turning more conservative under Chief Justice Warren Burger)

On a related note, Chief Justice Rehnquist has recently undergone procedures for THYROID CANCER.

Perhaps if all other CII pain killers fail him, he'd see the light re the 'medicinal' value of marijuana.

I doubt this would change his vote though. There's tons of people who smoke pot at night and go to work in the morning putting people in jail (for long stretches of time) for drug possession.

It's called Hypocrisy. :(
