Personal trainers, who's got one?

Never in my life have my arms been so worked that I can barely type

Phoenix 11-29-2004 11:25 AM

Yeah, there are still some muscles I can't target very well because of my shoulder injury, but on legs day.... shit I can barely stand up!

We'll see, this was only my 10th session, my goal is to look ripped by the time my Supra is done getting the widebody put on :)

nice..im getting back to the gym...got a few months to get ready for this summer. down 10 pounds this month just from eating properly.

Nismo 11-29-2004 11:35 AM

I've been looking to hire one when I join a new gym. How much should I expect to pay?

Paco, of Large Cash. 11-29-2004 11:37 AM

That tells us a ton ? at the least you are trying, and not sitting on a couch eating McD junk.

At the bare minimum, I believe a person MUST perform low-level physical activity (power walking) for a minimum of two hours/day. Or, a moderate workout (cycling) for 90 minutes, or a strenuous one for 60-70 minutes/day.

But of course, more is better. I myself do not need to go to a gym, as well I'd rather outdoors ... less juice monkeys!

I pay $720 a month

moneymaker_ro 11-29-2004 11:41 AM

:) train more and it will pay out the effort you made.

Ohhh yeah, no couch-sitting here. Well, ok, I lie. I have a problem where at least once a week I will smoke a little herb and end up eating a bag of popcorn or a couple slices of pizza with a jack and coke...

...or maybe twice a week...

:(

However, damn, I feel better than ever. When I first started 10 sessions ago my shoulder injury held me back. Shoulder is getting back it's mobility ( mountain biking accident, torn the rotator cuff ) and I've shed about 10 pounds of fat and put on a few in muscle. My bodyfat has dropped from 18% to 16% and I feel much more energetic.

I've been working more, too.

I would almost suggest to anyone in this industry to get a personal trainer, the money for the sessions might be offset by the more energy and drive to work you gain from the motivational power of a healthier body. :)

Yeah, and damn does eating a big meal after feel good. Just had a huge breakfast with chicken sausage, egg whites, hash browns, some ketchup, turkey bacon, and a fat glass of cold milk.

Anthony 11-29-2004 12:12 PM

Thought you trained Muay Thai.

I was training in mixed martial arts for a bit and I had a fucking nasty mountain bike crash. My shoulder was tweaked and I couldn't even throw a punch anymore. It's been a long road to recovery. I'm going to go back as soon as the pain is gone. I tried working a heavy bag last week and the shoulder is still glass. :(

BuckLover 11-29-2004 12:18 PM

But wacking off on your computer is not a real workout:winkwink:

galleryseek 11-29-2004 12:18 PM

once my online personal training site is done www.healthygo.com/new i'll be takin members :) $14.95 a month to know exactly what ya need to do. a good alternative to those who have home gyms, or not enough $ for personal trainers.

colpanic 11-29-2004 12:20 PM

I use a trainer, keeps me from getting lazy.

Although I think I'm done working shoulders after this past weekend... I dislocated my shoulder while lifting! It popped back in when I dropped the weight but daaamn!!

The trainer damn near had a heart attack too :)

Odie 11-29-2004 12:45 PM

try living with a trainer...:winkwink:

evilshaun 11-29-2004 12:51 PM

Huggles

Why are you paying that ridiculous amount?

Get him to show you the ropes then drop it until you see gains in a few months.

Go get yourself some hydrolean and cut the carbs really low, it works, trust me. I'm about 195-200lbs on a regular basis and am getting completely shredded, my upper body looks like a picture of a man with just muscles.

Drink a lot of green tea :)

And remember to bring your mp3 player full of pump music..

Good luck on the road back.

I'm always looking for good sparring partners, get well.

Mainly because once you pay you absolutely HAVE to make it to your work out. It's motivation not to "lose" the money. I mean, I like to work out, but having paid ahead for it always guarantees even on my off days I will still work out. :)

Let's see some pics if you guys think you're decked already.

I'm not decked already, why do you think I'm going to a personal trainer?

save your money, you can figure out all the stuff the personal trainer knows on www.bodybuilding.com as long as your self motivated and you dont need someone to tell you what to do

That's the thing.

$720 will keep you at the gym. Might be a small price to pay in the long run (medical bills and overall health).

I live in the boonies of White Rock and I train in the guy's basement. It has all the equipment I need, my own music, very short drive, and no lineup for used sweaty equipment. :)
