First look at PlayStation 3 chip
 

I want a ps3. now.

i thought it was christmas 2005, not 2006 :(

Pretty vague, but I want one now anyways!

One thing is the PS3 being fast.. another thing is that it will support HDTV resolutions - that will be the such a difference from the old NTSC/PAL shit

But still.. my bet is that PC's will be faster with games just a few months after the release it.. as usual

interseting, last I read they planned to use the same chip 'til 2010. guess with X-box2 comming soon they decided to step up to the plate.

Wow! This new chip will certainly raise the bar on personal computing power when it is released. 16 trillion floating point operations per second, ...AMAZING!

It was supposed to be PlayStation's answer to Halo 2.

Funny thing is you're probably right.
I miss cartridges.. sure they were harder to pirate, but load times were non-existant.. N64 vs PS1, nasty piece of machinary. =/
