"State Industries has a longstanding rule against employees distributing anything that hasn't been cleared by its human resources department, HR Director Bonnie Moore said yesterday. The company also has a policy that employees are fired for their first offense of insubordination.

Wright, 54, was fired Monday after he refused to retrieve 100 copies of a list of things he thought he and his co-workers at the Cheatham County water-heater maker could do to support the United States in its war effort.

While the company was within its rights to fire someone for disobeying his supervisor, it probably wasn't the best way to handle the situation, said William Blue Jr., managing attorney in the Nashville office of Costangy Brooks & Smith."

some companies have the stupidest rules. A friend of mine works for Nike. Nike gives the new shoes and shirts and clothes ect. every week. One of the shirts she got has a pictures of several sports balls: a golf ball, a football a baseball ect. . and it says under them "Nike-we've got balls." They made it, they gave it to her and when she wore it to work she was told it was inappropriate and was sent home to change.

go figure.

I guess Bin Laden cells are operating throughout the south. I'm concerned that at some point they may overwhelm our ability to shame them into pretending to be Americans just by sheer numbers.
