ServerMatrix.com - Anyone Use Them?
I'm thinking of switching hosts to these guys and getting an unmetered server, anyone here using them?
|
Yep. 2 servers for almost 6 months. Can't think of some single thing to complain about.
|
I've had a server with them for about 8 months, reliability has been great. Good bang for buck especially.
|
I should also add that even though it's an unmanaged server, support is always there to answer questions.
They're message board is chock full of useful info...worth checking out even if you're not hosting there. |
One year and very happy, though I hire a guy to look after the server and I'm on one of the 'regular' plans, not the unmetered.
|
I've been with them about 6 months. Nothing to complain about with them. Only had to call support once, and they were there and helpfull. Like candyflip said their message board is full of good info.
|
Switched some servers from crackshack about 2 months ago and so far no complaints at all.
Unmetered only thing I wonder about is the ping times seem slightly slower, than crackshack which is odd because SM is 20meg and crackshack was 10. Prolly all the dns tricks slowing things down some :) |
They are completly retarded when they manage complaints you get ...:2 cents:

You'd be at the bottom of my list if you were generating complaints. |

they are beyond rediculous in this regard, I can back him on this statement... THE WORST.... |
I have the 20MBIT unmetered server!!!
GREAT SUPPORT!!!!! ALWAYS UP! No Complains :thumbsup |

BTW, i got 1 complaint in 6 month , a false one , and they handled it like a bunch of retards |

let me guess, you don't do a lot of engine work? |
ive been with them for almost a year - they sometimes have some shitty billing dept reps tho...
i called in to change my CC # cuz I couldnt log into their account system. The rep took down my info and applied it to someone elses account. So, I find this out a few days later when my server gets unplugged and I see a charge on my card for triple the amount of what my bill was. |

I've had a few and have not had any problems with SM. Sometimes, you get have to deal with an individual who really isn't the best representation of the company. You're still hosting with them, so I'm sure the pros are outweighing the cons. :winkwink: |

normal plans are ok, but unmetered is cogent, i am not sure if i would go with that, i am happy with a normal box.

They are not can-spam friendly in any way. If you have traffic that may complain for any reason, look elsewhere or you'll be like me and be paying thousands in legal costs just to recover the data. And most people in this biz have a connection with email traffic (spam or non-spam), and both generate complaints regardless. :2 cents: |

that's brutal man but I totally believe it after my little experience with them and it was in NO WAY shape or form related to even email spam.... I'm shocked anyone would risk their business or livelihood with a company like this... |

I had a 10% chargeback and 50% refund ratio that month with paycom - downtime limited thanks to REFLECTED.NET :) To reclaim the data it took several attourney emails, phone calls and letters to finally break ground with their abuse department which seems to be run by a bunch of 10year olds. Eventually they let me buy the hard drives (i needed them for sql dbs) at US $500 each x4 (raid) (80 gig 7200rpm) they really took advantage of the situation... I don't like speaking bad of other companies, but theplanet/servermatrix really made such a negative impact on my business and personal life that I would hate to see someone in this industry go through the same ordeal :feels-hot |
