Paysite owners- What is the best protection?

I'm moving to a new box and need to buy password protection. It's been a while since I looked into it- Who's the best these days and why? Iprotect? Pennywize? Proxypass? I used to love password sentry but it didnt offer a server wide license.

All input is appreciated!

Hit up Ray at webmaster guide. His script Strongbox is really great.

i am using IProtect and i can say in the 4 years using it, i have never had one complaint...fucking awesome module

Tat2Jr 11-27-2004 05:59 PM

Yep, I recommend Strongbox too. Great software without a monthly fee, and Ray is awesome at getting it setup perfectly for you.

thanks for the strongbox tip-

I prefer to avoid iprotect after an incident when I paid for it a few years ago

people can still break in if they use proxies. form login is the best way.

I always saw funny business when I ran Pennywize..... and had to pay weekly for it. So far with Strongbox I haven't seen any funny business, and only had to pay once.

ya pennywize is easy to get by when i did some penetration and vuln testing for a couple clients. i havent tried on the strongbox, no customers have had it. everyone has used pennywize.

Been using Pennywise.. great program.. worth a few bucks!

lagwagon 11-27-2004 09:56 PM

proxypass has been doing great for us.

Hubby uses Strongbox - after 2 nights of the servers noting significant increases and setting off the wake up calls to the server guys - hubby was more than glad Ray did it quick & seemlessly and now everyone sleeps well at night now :) For a week after, the notices in the emails were non-stop - now if there is one a week it's even too much.

take nothing but valid credit cards. With the way ccbill scrubs them, the chances of a legit carduser trading his password. Especially if he was warned not to trade it in the members area.

If you take other methods of payment, you'll expose yourself to all kinds of fraudulent activities.

good thread - we used Iprot - would also like protection of form login - any software that offers this as part of the features ?

Most of them dont knowingly give up their password, the sites are brute forced. So I dont think the method of payment has too much to do with it.

Definitely avoid IProtect. He ripped off my associate for $200. My associate paid Chris Ihlenfeld to make a change to IProtect, the change was never made and he refuses to pay back the money. The guy can't be trusted. Yeah, there is drama.
