I have to share a DMOZ experience
 

I submitted about 45 freesites on several domains in the last month and I got 9(!) of those accepted already lol
It took only 1 month to get 9 sites accepted...

This is a totally new experience for me especially because I still have sites in the que waiting for review since jan 2002 :1orglaugh

IMO, DMOZ is overrated. Why wait months to get listed to a PR4-5 category, when you can get linked by a PR7-8 in a few days?

Maybe I'm talking out of my ass due to having issues with DMOZ editors.

I remember back in 1999 when I could get most of my free sites in with no problem. Then it became a 50-50 shot circa 2001. Now it's a lost cause. I'm not sure why Google still values it so much.

If DMOZ pushed porn sites with their own affilliate codes then maybe they'd have enough money to pay the editors to do more than a half assed job.

True, perhaps not thousands, but a couple dozen of PR1-2 directories.

I have a mainstream site that's been sitting there waiting for 3-4 months. I was just thinking about it the other day and wondering if I should take the time to go to their board and try and see what's going on.

Most of the editors I see posting there are such incredible pricks that I probably shouldn't bother. I know I'd end up snapping and telling them to fuck off.

I HATE dmoz... never had a site listed with them.

DMOZ is a serious piece of shit! I was an editor at one point! like 4 years ago, and for no reason they cut off my editorial permissions!:mad:
