I'm thinking more of buildin one for looks kinda... like only pop open the good stuff on special occasions. Drink the not so expensive stuff because you re-buy on a certain basis. Keep the expensive stuff by rarely drinking it unless you have money out the ass to spend on alcohol.

Everytime I start one, I drain it before it can emass.

I Did have a pretty nice collection of scotch malt whisky but it has been slowly decresing :glugglug through the years so i'm down to about 15 bottles by now.. still got some nice bottles left though :Graucho

my wife has a collection, i never bothered, drink it too damn fast when i have lots at home :)
