Looking For Hosts That Can Handle 'Hun' Type Traffic

Lookin' for hosts that can handle 'Hun' type traffic.

I'm getting ready to go whole hog early next year and expect that type of traffic so I'm shopping early.

After getting listed by the Hun earlier this year I've had the chance to see what to do right next time. Wanna be prepared.

Thanks.

Any good host should be able to handle traffic from a Hun listing.

get a dedicated box from Jupiter. Top notch hardware, great pipes - can withstand anything you throw at it.

Hit up Poppy - he might just have a Xmas deal for you... :Graucho

Candidhosting, they have handled some of the largest site traffic that I have seen.

When I ran busty we paid for spots on the Hun all the time and candid never slowed up ever.

My 2 cents,

G

Thanks but virtual hosting is what the problem is. My host I've been with for years is cool but couldn't handle the Hun traffic. I don't want that account goofed up. He's got other hosting options but I don't like to put all my eggs in one basket.

Huge traffic requires precise calibration on both counts. If I'm gonna run up crazy bills I want them paid and I want the traffic to convert to justify it. I need a host who can cut me a deal that is affordable and accomodating to both even if I have to slap one of their buttons on the page too.

Maximizing huge traffic is what it's all about. I've known guys who sure as heck get lots of traffic but what good is huge traffic if your bill is $3,000 bucks but you only make $3,500 in sales?

Pornwolf you hit the nail right on the head. That's the bottom freakin' line!!!!

Now that I know what the Hun likes to post and I know I can create that kind of content it's the bandwidth charges that are the bottom line AND to make sure that traffic converts.

Considering the restrictions the Hun and other top links listers enforce you've got to be precise and efficient.

I need a host who can lay out the costs per gig or mbits flat.

I want to make sure I've put several $G's in the bank BEFORE I start submitting galleries so I'm way ahead of the game.

What are some of these guys charging per gig or megabit?

Greg B 11-27-2004 02:54 PM

Pornwolf, them Webair prices are CHEAP!!!

Didn't know you could get that much for so little! I'm impressed! I'll look at the site more and look at the other hosts too.

Glad I posted this thread! Gives me a chance to shop BEFOREHAND!!!

Having two hosts is something I always recommend. Makes sure you don't get goofed up if one has a problem.

uno 11-27-2004 02:57 PM

I've had 2 galleries listed on thehun this week and my server is just fine. I also have tons of other galleries listed all over the place, and a bunch of high traffic, database intensive sites and everything works fine.

Check out Phatservers!
