Shoppers Are Already Parked & Sleeping In Cars

Jesus, people are fucking nutzo with this day after Thanksgiving shopping ritual.

They showed women asleep in cars in the parking lot of the local Wal-Mart so they would have the best spots to the front doors.

Wal-Mart is also advertising a free wake up call service between 4 to 6AM today.

This country has become too caught up with all these holiday rituals. Christmas is out of control also. Its all lost its true meaning and is just about shopping and feeling obligated to buy presents.

Come on, it's not different than guys with the Superbowl in the U.S. or Whatever Cup they have in Soccer in just about every other country. Shopping is a professional sport for most women.

Sorry for being chauvinistic, but it's true - at least in my house.

fuzebox 11-25-2004 10:02 PM

Boxing Day is a lot like that here... People lining up at 6am to save 10% on a stereo.

He is offline at the moment and not at work now but your store's ad is the same as mine so hopefully they will have the same deals.

Well, if you don't fancy camping out to get a good deal then don't do so. But don't dis those that do. It's none of your business.

Also, the meaning of Christmas for an individual is down to them, not you. YOUR meaning of Christmas, not theirs, is down to you.

Spunky 11-26-2004 07:34 AM

It's sounds like the boxing day sales..usually they are lining up at 2 in the previous morning for deals on electronics

Tim 11-26-2004 07:37 AM

That is nuts. Similar in the UK (for Christmas)

loverboy 11-26-2004 07:46 AM

indeed, a day after Thanksgiving is one of the most important shopping days for U.S. retailers. next stop, Christmas ! :thumbsup

mardigras 11-26-2004 07:54 AM

I went to Walmart this morning to stand in a line for my mom. It was insane. Afterwards there was no way I was going to try to look anywhere else in the store so I went home. For people willing to hang out for awhile there were some great deals. I was in electronics and the big items were a portable DVD player for $99 and a video camera for $178. People also had 3 and 4 DVD players, I think they were $39

I was going to get a camera on sale, but found it on Walmart.com early for the sale price and ordered it instead of risking on being lucky today:thumbsup

adamneve 11-26-2004 08:02 AM

people just grabbing everything they can is not my kind of fun

Some people cannot afford to NOT shop at Wal-Mart.

However, I do respect that you don't support Wal-Mart. :winkwink:
