My guy in russia sent it over to me ...i'm not sure if it was a pic he took there and chopped or if he found it on the web ... i think he may have done it .... it's pretty cool ...

I don't think so. I think its just chopped and a nice chop it is.

I would also say it is a 3D package that was used to produce that image. Something like Softimage XSI or Maya.

Actually, if you look at the shovels, the texture is the same on 3 of them, on the other one it is hard to tell (3 little dents). Looks like different lighting and bump mapping? but I am 95% sure that is 3D work. Good work though.

If it's photoshop i really take off the hat infront of the designer :)
although it seems like 3d generated graphics, which doesn't mean it's easier to create hehe :)

Usually when you look at a pic, at the instant you see it, if it looks a little dodgy, like you are questioning its validity, its usually because your brain has picked up that something doesn't quite look right. If you look at it too long you will get used to the slight differences in lighting for example, and it begins to look more real. Go with your first instinct.

It is CG, but not Photoshop. Texture is re-used... you can see it at different places. :)

The dead givaway is there is "ZERO" pressure on the tire!
looks as if it had 300 psi and was floating of the ground!

To make the look real flaten the tire look and fix the shawdows.

Oh boy a fake spider shovel thingie. One of those would be awesome to play around with though
