What STDs can really be transferred through oral sex by semen?
It's no secret that you can't impregnate a woman by way of her mouth. But what can you inflict on her through oral sex -- or what can she give to you?
If there is a danger of an STD being transmitted from one partner to another via oral sex, the woman is much more at risk than the man. The lining of the mouth is a much more delicate region than that of the vagina, and can actually be much more vulnerable to bacteria and viruses. STDs like chlamydia, genital herpes, gonorrhea, hepatitis B, and genital warts can all be spread through oral-genital contact.
But there's no need for paranoia. If you're in a monogamous relationship, and you've both been tested and have no reason to believe that either of you is carrying an STD, you needn't be excessively vigilant. In and of itself, healthy semen presents no risk of ill effects.
