I've been getting calls daily now where I pick up and there is just beeping (not fax noises).

I called the telephone company to see if they could block the number but they said they can't unless I find out the number. (No number appears on caller ID).

They can't just figure out which number it is and block it for me because off FCC regulations they told me. :mad:

I knew I forgot something...

Does anyone know what the beeping could be from?

It's gotta be a fax, or a modem.

A fax bomb maybe?

I know, it sounds childish, but a co-worker had this done to him. It went on for days. :(

Maybe AOL has added your number as an access number. :Graucho

Just set it up so numbers with no caller ID have to go through verification first. Most phone companies offer this.

Before the last Federal porn site crackdown a webmaster I know that had his site shut down asked me the exact same thing. He said someone kept calling and hanging up with beeping and a week later he was in Federal prison.

* 76 the number. Then check your next month bill. There will be a charge for the function. Unless you have the total package. and that is included.

If they charge you for it. It usually shows the number that you called back.

It's just funny that the phone company can figure out the number but won't block it for me because of the regulations. If the number showed up on called ID, they could block it, but since it doesn't they said I would have to file a police report and claim it as a "harrassment". Then they could block the number. Silly.

They must be after the Spanish guy who had the number before me. What are the odds? :1orglaugh
