This is why banks suck....Time for another rant.
Let's see how simple I can make this.....
Bank A (My client's bank) sends a wire to what one might assume is bank B (My bank) In reality....Bank A (which is out of the US) sends the wire to bank B (also out of the US). Bank B processes that wire then sends it to bank C which is a US bank but not my bank. Bank C then sends the money to Bank D which is my bank. Think of it as a trace route with a few hops, if you will. So. Bank D typically gets these wires the very day they are sent from bank A. Guess what? Not in this case. If that happened then there would be no need for this thread. :) Moving on..... So, Bank D tells me to get a reference number from bank A. Bank A gives me the number but not only does bank D say it's not valid, they claim that Bank A does not even exist. They imply that my client is lying to me. This client wires me money monthly from the same account.....Yet, all of a sudden my bank says they do not exist. Yeah...OK. :thumbsup So, I start calling various places to see WTF is going on. Bank D claims it's Bank A's fault. Bank A claims they sent it and that it's up to Bank D to locate it. Now comes the fun part. Bank C says that they never received it from Bank B. Working back........ Bank B has no wire transfer department and they refuse to assist in locating anything because I do not bank with them and neither does my client. Bank A can see a wire being sent but because it is not my account so they refuse to give me any additional info to assist my bank with tracking it. It's a huge fucking circle jerk at my expense. Somebody at bank B or C has fucked the pooch on this deal. Now I have to inconvenience my client yet again to have them try to locate the wire from their end. Fuck banks. :321GFY Yeah?I?m slightly frustrated to say the least. As pissed off as I am, I can hardly blame myself or my client so I am adopting the same position as the banks and just pointing my finger at random people instead. This is all Bush?s fault. |
its almost worth the risk with paypal.

You have been having alot of problems with banks lately Aaron.. That sucks man.. Its times like this when you really wonder how banks have made it this far...

Fuck them too. |
i had a missing wire a couple of weeks ago. it ended up being returned to the sending bank. total fuck job, but apparently things are straightened out now. the strangest thing is that wires had been sent before, with the exact same info, with no issues. yet this one time the wire bounced back.
i almost had a stroke over it lol |
Well, I learnt here my ABC ...
|
Actually it seems to me, your client is inconveniencing you... its not your job to make sure you get the money, its theirs.

I stopped dealing with credit cards years ago. Cash is supposed to be much simpler. I guess they meant cash burried in a jar in the back yard because cash in the bank is worth fuck all if they banks are gonna lose it then jerk you around instead of fixing the fucking problem. Did I mention fuck banks? :glugglug |
Never overlook the FEDS as they handle all wire transactions in the US as we send out 30-50 wires a day and this crap happens all the time. Bank A gets yelled, Bank B gets yelled at then we see the FED has the wire sitting uncleared  I understand your frustration

That's exactly what I am going through right now. The worst part is that I have to bother my client with this. As if they have nothing better to do then track this shit. |

My client sent it. They should not be required to do any more than that. |

My clients bank charges a fee for the wire. My bank charges another fee for the wire. WTF do we pay these fees for if not for services provided? Where's the customer service when you need it? I spent 3+ years working for one of the largest banks in the nation. I know how they fuck people over on a daily basis. |
Banks do suck. That it the truth...:ak47:
|
It seems kind of odd that you've got two intermediary banks in the loop, most places only have one.
But that seems to be the source of your problem. I'd suggest your client tries to reverse the wire and then sends you another one. Banks have their idiosyncrasies as well. Take B of A for instance, if you send money to NA (Netherlands Antilles to the rest of the world) you've actually sent a wire to Nambia instead of Curacao... |
I also have a very bad experience with banks..
GTS knows all about it, unfortunately :( Luckily, they're a bunch of very cool people, and I appreciate it that they're trying to help me as much as they can, instead of bashing me coz I failed paying them like, 3 times.. International wires suck :( |

good thing you are independently wealthy

True, but its their money until you receive it. If they Fedex you cash and it never shows up, are you going to take the loss? |
I agree...Banks fucking suck ass!!
All the people at my Bank suck up my ass, they are nice as can be. But the bank in General sucks. Wires take a long time, everything is weird processing and shit. |
Wait till bank E enters the skit...
Then the real fun begins! |

I'm definitely on board with you, FUCK BANKS. |
GUESS WHAT ? YOU CHOSE THE WRONG FUCKING BANK TO OPEN AN ACCONT IN.
YOU = OWNED. |
That is why I deal with a Credit Union.
I had something like that happen one. They put the money into my accounts, after I fax'ed them a copy of the wire papers. They said that they would get it worked out. 4 months later I got a letter stating that they had just recieved the funds. Someone in one of the banks had quit and thrown away the transfer papers. But I had the money all along. |
Aaron, I've had the same problem in the past with wires.
I get wires all the time, and 98% of the time they go through fine, but sometimes it goes wrong, and when wires go wrong, they go sooooooo wrong. :( Once I had $10,000 go "missing" for 3 weeks. Bank A said they sent it to bank B Bank B said they have no record of it. So I was like "Where the fuck is my $10,000?" All bank A could tell me is that it was sent, and they don't have it anymore. All bank B could tell me is that they haven't received it, and they have no record of it. One day, after 3 weeks, it just magically decided to show up in my account. On top of all that, I paid like $40 dollars for the privilege of that fuckin runaround service. |
I think we all have bank horror stories. Everyone makes mistakes...even banks

My bank forgot to give me exchange rate for like 4 months . Gotta call them tomorow. (only on checks, not on wire)

This has nothing to di with credit union vs. non credit union. It's about customer service and accepting responsibility for fucking up. Bank A happens to be a credit union. |
yer dollar wires in and out of us are a bit unreliable to say the least
