good point. there was just another article about click fraud yesterday. they're suing some guy who hired people to click his ads. how the hell DO they combat this?

Even if someone tells you how much they are making its irrelevant if you don't know what their site content is. Chances are if they are making decent money they don't need any competitors ;) What you make can be well under $1 CPM, or it can be a whole lot higher.

As for fraud, the advertisers are smart and they know when they start getting a lot of traffic that doesn't convert. Complain to Google, Google does some investigating.

:) that's what happens after 40 hours without sleep. i'd actually be interested in hearing about advertiser's performance in general. some people are grumbling that the click fraud is starting to really kill ROI for advertisers.

also, i heard yahoo is coming out with a similar program - anyone hear of this yet?

ive noticed that it varies a lot as well... ive been checking out some other forums and have heard that within the next 30 days adsense earnings should quadrouple for a little while (depending on your site) due to all the christmas shopping

adsense scam 101:

find a niche/product that costs a fortune on adwords (ex. pharmaceuticals)

make/buy a free site on the topic

buy some targeted traffic

get approved by adsense

send it some chinese traffic ;)

bank in the $$$$

Well I'm sure that any SMART adwords advetiser would not have his add shown to chinese surfers. You can filter that crap out.

Adsense won't display many ads, if any, to chinese surfers as most advertisers will not pick asia countries as ones they want their ads displayed to.

what about hitbots hits ?

Why not just do it legitimately?

i was using chinese as type... you can send it US traffic if you want, my point is that for those kinds of keywords even if you pay for traffic, you'll get more than your money's worth back.

I've made $19 from 2 clicks haven't seen that happen in a while

my total CTR is 0.1% and $0.20 CPM from the begning.

some days are as high as $0.63 CPM and 5.1 CTR

All time stats CTR:0.7% CPM:$0.55... thats on a simple celebrity site.

all time stats CTR 4.3% CPM $2.29 from past 2 years. this is for a cruise site.

it just kinda depends on the advertisers some days i make easily 4$/click next day i dont even reach 7cents lol.

checking your stats daily will help you to filter out the ones that dont wanna pay big bucks

ive made $11.11 so far, but my mainstream site isnt 100% done yet, so i havent been promoting it that much and havent got any traffic trades yet. im sure it'll be more once i get more than 100 visitors a day lol :)
