Copy DVD protected
 
I wanted to make a backup of my pulp fiction dvd but nero says it can't copy it because it is protected...... anybody knows any way around it?

It has nothing to do with movie length. The video is just higherquality or there are a lot of extras..... Its a DVD-8 not a regular DVD

Can i use the "start-end" feature to put it on two dvd's?

Probably, but I dont know how to do it.

I've never tryed to rip a DVD-8

is your dvd burner dual layer? Get yourself a dual layer disc (DVD9) and you will be able to rip the dvd then burn it. Dual layer is not perfected yet but at least you can make a backup. My Pioneer dvd burner is dual layer ready but I haven't tried to burn on a dual layer disc yet.

Heh, its dvd-9 I said 8 well this guy knows more so let him help you.

But I did find this thread if you cant get a dual layer burn to work.

DVD9 you mean? ;)

DVD9 = 8.3GB or so
DVD5 = 4.5GB to 4.7GB
