this message board has conditioned me to not mouse over banners
 

i notice even when i'm Yahoo or something, i subconsciously avoid mousing over the banner. the first time i heard one of these things i was wearing headphone and my volume was turned up loud, but no music. suddenly the voice of god called out 'hey man! where'd you get that domain??' i almost had a heart attack.

That banner fucking own ... there used to be bad ones and my neightbor heard it

it's goddamn effective though. i NOTICED that banner. it's imprinted in my brain too. every time i see it, i get nervous. kind of like when you're little and a dog jumps out and scares the shit out of you for the first time - you always remember that dog.

No shit. I turned ALL banners off ages ago, after hearing "I'm a slutty little cockholster" for the 10,000 time.

I turned them off after "Suck my dick bitch!" blared out of my speakers while I was on the phone to my wife...

I avoid them as well except on days when I feel like going on a banner listening spree and I go over all of them.

I usually leave my speakers unplugged when online...

i have a habit of forgetting i'm wearing headphones. i have these noise cancellation headphones, and i usually listen to music loud. music was probably off for over an hour, but i was still wearing the headphones. i almost had brown pants.

I keep my mouse clear of the banner.

Can someone let me know when the banners stop (sound) biting?

use FireFox and install the "Adblock" extension to get rid of those Flash banners :thumbsup
