I had an idiot friend wish this other friend of ours who happens to be a tribe member of the Stockbridge / Munsee band of The Mohicans a happy thanksgiving a couple years ago.

Yeah, I am so not looking forward to it. Wost of all you have to hang with family members you never would normally want to be with during the rest of the year and now starts the time of year you have to see them twice in a 30 day period!

I am totally looking forward to gathering with my family as I rarely get to see them. All cooking together and sitting at the table eating really good food and talking about old times. Especially knowing this will be my Grandmothers last holiday. This is the most important holiday of my life! Plus it's my birthday that day Weeeeee.

i always thought thanksgiving was about freedom in America to worship the way we want. after all that is why we left england.

Wrong. Its about:

Your wife freaking out about how clean her house is if she's hosting, and then going to the A&P and freaking that she can't find that gravymaster.
Whose house are we going over.. not to piss off any in-laws
Who is bringing what over ..and who is making the pies.
Who is sitting next to who, which leads into a fight.
THe men watching some lame football game, getting up only to eat, and then falling asleep after the meal because the 4 o'clock game is so boring.
The drive home with the kids in the back, fighting traffic.

That is the US version of Thanksgiving . . . apparently the Canadians use it to celebrate the freedom to kill Indians. Must be why they celebrate it on a different day.

Sounds pretty miserable . . . so, why is it that you bother? It isn't like anyone is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to celebrate it.

Of course, if you wanted to put a gun to your own head and pull the trigger, I highly doubt there would be many here trying to stop you. It is that time of year, after all.

Thanksgiving is the one day a year we recognize that we stole america from the indians who were not only already living here, but without who's help we would have starved to death. Personally I wish the indians either a: let the retarded puritanical christians starve to death or b: cooked them and ate them for a real indian thanksgiving feast (mmm pilgrim pie!). The world would be a much better place if that had happened. imho the sooner we whipe christian zelots off the earth the sooner we will actually find peace and happiness and that is something worth giving thanks for;)
