Assuming that this was for George W Bush, I was under the impression that the president was only allowed to fly in an aircraft designated air force one...

Or the three helicopters that land on the grass at the white house (when the president is onboard), are designated marine one collectively...

Hm, if I'm not mistaken there's even an air force one Lockheed Jetstar, custom made smaller jet.

This being the case, is it true that he's not allowed to be on board any civilian aircraft while in office for security reasons?

...and isn't it true that former presidents are treated the same as if they were in office, so the secret service does the same checks and sweeps for security, especially around aircraft?
