what the fuck is a packer? is green bay famous for packaging? serious question .... been wondering for years and no one can answer. figured id ask on this newfangled internet thingy ...

when the packers were 1st created (way back in the day), all the players on the team worked for a Meat Packing company up in Green Bay. :)

They were originally called the ACME Packers as one of their original sponsors was The ACME (meat) Packing Company.

And people today get pissed about how company names are being used to name stadiums. This stuff has been going on for decades.
