Buying pagerank on a PR8 site
 

Calling all search engine optimisers - I was wondering whether or not it would be wise to buy a link on a homepage of a site with a PR of 8 for $249? There are about 30 links on it already and they are not related in content to each other, also the site itself is not relevant to my site - will the benefit of it being such a high PR override the relevancy factor?

Yeah having high PR is a way into lots of nice traffic though, because better quality sites will want to start swapping links with you, and you can sell links as well.

PR8+ always benefits yours beside there is no more PR passing on the site.The price is a bit too high in my opinion, I'm paying less than 200$ for the PR8 sites linking to me.

Also 30 outgoing links are a lot, will you get a sidewide footer link?

The main purpose of PR is having your site crawled fast and deep

A high PR link to your site gets more pages of your sites included, and included faster

I don't know what a sidewide footer link is but it is certainly a footer in that it is with a bunch of links at the bottom of the page.

I haven't found any other sites with PR this high offering to sell a link so I will take it if I know it will benefit (although probably won't even see this for six months knowing how google is these days)

If anyone wants to sell me high PR links I'd be interested, especially if they are gambling related.

Ah so it's about a gambling links allowed site, that's something else because the prices go up quite high in the adult/RX/gambling regions.

You first have to get the guarantee that the site is passing on PR and isn't blocked on that, otherwise the link is useless, you can also check that by checking the linked sites.

Just check linkadage.com for high PR links, but you won't find PR8 sites linking to gambling related sites there, PR6 max. at "gambling ok" links

Instant benefits are of course almost instant crawling by all kinds of SE bots, a few SEs will give you traffic within a day that way if your site is new.

It's impossible to tell if it's been blocked - there are some low ranking sites on the page but it may be because google is updating PR so infrequently.

Check if you see a backlink to the low PR sites from the page you're going to buy a link on in google.

what's the google command for backlinks again? I can't use the toolbar at the moment because my i.e. is fucked.
