ok nice bike.

problem is many kids can walk into a dealer and buy a bike like this---and they are not experienced riders...and they brag about going 150mph and popping wheelies, and taking chicks for wild rides.

yes, bikes like this are lots of fun to be sure.

until you hurt yourself---or hurt the girl who sits behind you with her hair blowing in the wind.

rule #1. wear appropriate protection, the best full-face helmet you can afford, abrasion resistant clothing, and a jacket with a back brace. if you ride any bike without protection, especially a sportbike, you brand yourself as a newbie by more experienced riders. you will fall off if you are lucky to ride long enough.

rule #2. make sure that anyone who rides on the back of your bike has appropriate protection.

rule #3. learn to handle the bike, take a motorcycle safety course, learn about panic stopping, defensive driving, counter-steering, proper tire pressures for sport riding, just because you can go fast in a straight line doesn't mean you can handle things when the road gets twisty.

rule #4. if you really want to hotdog a sportbike, learn motorcycle riding by riding dirt bikes, learn how to do wheelies, and how to control the bike when the rear wheel starts to slide---if you have never experienced this, then the first time you begin to lose control on pavement you are very likely to hurt or kill yourself.

rule #5. you are probably young, at your age term life insurance is inexpensive. name someone you love (your mother, etc.) as a beneficiary.

good luck to you.

Rule one shoud have been. Use the bike only for weekends and screwing around. IF you dont have a car, then you will die a lot faster.

People just dont give a shit about bikes on the road.

I had 2 months in jail, and 3 operations.

suck a nut fuck stick. You sound like a real cool guy. When you dyno a bike you get rear wheel horse with no ram air effect. Figure it out no mind.

Ice 11-21-2004 04:10 PM

I have been riding for 20 years now... use to race 750 production for Team Kawasaki in Canada....

I'm still alive and I used a bike as my mode of transport for years....

You just have to ride like you are invisible and you will live. I don't ride like "look at me I'm cool" I ride like nobody can see me and I always have an escape route if someone comes in my lane.......

Ride smart :thumbsup

gage 11-21-2004 04:27 PM

I think one of the best things my riding buddy used to say is...

There are two types of riders... riders going down.. and ones waiting to go down..

He rides a z10r(04) and i used to ride a z6r(03) .. it always helped to keep us from doing really crazy shit, hope it helps ya too, -g

RobD 11-21-2004 06:38 PM

sweet sweet ride man:thumbsup I want to get myself a bike but my kid likes them and I always tell him about bikes being bad, so I donīt know what to do:(

Nice bike... Hubby and I were going to get the ZX-10R and the ZX-636, but decided for the Suzuki's instead. I bought a 2004 GSXR-600, and hubby is still waiting for his 2005 GSXR-1000.

Mine looks like this:
