Asshole customers

How many of you face customers who are just full of hate and threaten you with everything they have? What do you do about it? Do they ever follow up on their promises?

Here's an email from one of the lastest one we got:

I will be making sure that EVERY nationally read lifesyle forum reads your email. I will also make sure to post dozens of comments (under all 20 of my alias') making it clear that a HUGE national backlash AGAINST the hateful people behing swingdater. All of this while staying well within the law under protection of the first amendment. And well hidden in the sea of millions who read and post their comments on the world wide web. You idiot. So, they don't really do much damage? I mean anybody can go to a Yahoo group of over 20,000 members and post some shit about the site. Right? How do you deal with that?

OG LennyT 11-20-2004 06:41 PM

like someone said, not worth your time.
You cant please everyone, especially freeloaders :2 cents:

nofx 11-20-2004 06:44 PM

kill them

clueless 11-20-2004 06:45 PM

Well, I have faced irritating customers before. But, none of this kind. Frankly I wouldn't know how to react or act if something like this should come across. Hopefully, I don not have to. Good luck!!!:)

Varius 11-20-2004 06:53 PM

Hey Eric,

You wouldn't believe some of the mails we get from users :1orglaugh

I'll try and find some of the funnier ones if I get some time.

I think it amounts to nothing, I mean we've been threatened to be sued like once a week for 7-8 years and not once has it actually happened.

As for badmouthing your site.....in this case, I believe they are just advertising for you for free....if they complain to 20,000 yahoo people, maybe 1000 of them will go checkout the site :winkwink:

Boxer3 11-20-2004 07:05 PM

I have only had one hate e mail from a subscriber, I just told him to fuck off and ignored his reply, nothing since. He;s just trying to get something free and I doubt he will carry any of his idiocy out, people will soon realize what a shmuck he is!

baycouples 11-21-2004 03:02 AM

So, where do people get off of writting this emails then? I mean what is the point if they are not actually gonna do it?

Mr Dickovitch 11-21-2004 07:48 AM

If you can't say anything nice then just delete their email and move on. Now you have a psycho stalker.

dcortez 11-21-2004 10:43 AM

I've been doing customer support for 25+ years (mainstream and adult).

As hard as it may be, and as 'dead-end' a customer may seem, keeping your cool - always pays off.

Chances are a majority of members at any Yahoo group will probably not be familiar with a site being slammed on the board. That means you haven't lost them as a customer. There will however be those who click through or visit out of curiosity. You'll probably actually pick up some members if he hits Yahoo:thumbsup
