I'm FINALLY about to watch Lord Of The Rings

I don't think it's the first one. I'm watching "return of the king" on DVD.

It's over three fucking hours long so I need to go ahead and get my drink and smoke on and watch it before I fall asleep. I hope it's exciting

Return of the King is the last one. It's not going to be nearly as exciting if you haven't watched the rest of the story. It's one long story and watching the end isn't going to do it for you. If you don't watch the first one, you don't even get to see Boromir, who is an awesome character but dies in the first movie (oops that was a spolier, sorry). And developing a sense of who the characters are and why they're doing what they're doing is a huge part of the impact of the last movie. :2 cents:

I haven't watched any of them yet and I don't think I'll watch them soon.

KEEP IN MIND THAT IT DOESNT HAVE A SINGLE ****** IN IT

Maybe you're right. I'll watch "Flowers of Shanghai" instead and take this one back tomorrow and get the original.

Thanks for saving me three hours.

hahahahaha

Dude!

You can't watch that movie first! It would be like reading the last couple chapters of a book! And in all actuality, it IS the last couple chapters of a book!

Watch Fellowship of the Ring first.

You have made a wise choice watching them in order is the way to go...

i just watched the extended version of the first part yesterday - the part of Boromir dying in the arms of Aragorn makes my cry every time I see it. :(

Agreed. Boromir was SO heroic. That scene was amazing. It makes me cry, too. :)

i've only seen the first one....

never was into the whole LOTR phenomenon...I read the books, they are good, but I don't see what's the big deal ....

tootie 11-20-2004 05:46 PM

I can't imagine not having seen the whole trilogy. I cried at the end of Return of the King, not because the ending was particularly emotional but because I knew there would never be another one. The series really moved me like no other series before. Maybe it's the nerd side of me, but I'm a nerd girl and I LIKE it. :Graucho

it's not just a girls thing - i even had tears in my eyes when Peter Jackson received 11 Oscars. those movies make me really sentimental.

Screaming 11-20-2004 05:53 PM

Actually, if you asked me. Among the three LOTR, the last one -- the one you are going to see is my most favorite one. But, you do have to watch the first two for you to understand and enjoy the last one (Return of the Kings). If you're into that kind of movie, you would definitely love it for sure.... I did!!!

Tell me what you think afterwards, ok? have a nice time watching it!!!

Oh, I know. I know alot of men who cried over the movies.. the books, too. Even my dad got weepy-eyed over the books when he was younger. :)

You have to watch them in order

1,2,3

Don't fuck around the order or it will completely suck
