Just to let you know, I was the first one using it for AFF. I guarantee that. I emailed them about a year ago asking them about an ad just like they put out for everyone to use. I was told I could not do that so I didn't go with a photo ad. Prior to that I had been using a geo text ad. Then photo ads EXACTLY like I had described to AFF started showing up on other sites (and many, many sites still use them) even though I was told I couldn't do it.

Now they've released the ad I described to them over a year ago. Pretty shitty if you ask me.

The reason they are using my content is for 2257 reasons :) and thats also why you could not use the content from their sites and why we had to launch the ads in this manner

I surf porn sites. I look at every site I could even possibly consider competition. If someone were doing it before me, I would have seen it. When I first put it on my site I got numerous emails a day from webmasters wanting to buy the script and DB off me to do it.

I was using a geo text ad for well over a year before I started using a photo ad. I came up with the idea a couple of years ago when I was writing a fraud prevention (scrub) script for a fairly well-known mainstream CC processor.

are you talking about the city text? or just regular geo?

Links on geo ads are going to a 404.

When I started doing it for AFF, I was using geoip region to show the users location. It was just a simple C++ script that I could use as an SSI on a page. I didn't start using the photo ads until recently when I saw others doing it (again, AFTER I was told nearly a year earlier that I could not do such an ad).

When AFF initially told me I couldn't do the ad because the TOS wouldn't allow me to post real girls pics on my site, I ALMOST bought some amateurish webcam looking content to use instead of the "real" AFF girls but I thought that would be too dishonest.

I know geo targetting isn't my idea. That would be a stupid thing to say. I did the scrub routine for a mainstream processor. The NDA I had to sign obviously precludes me from telling who it was or how it works.

It is a great Idea, and all great ideas are copied on the internet :)

I still get a 404 when I click the links in IE. However, when I load my page into Firefox, its fine. Weird.

It's not 100% but the signups and sales that you make from the traffic it does target correctly will more than make up for it. :winkwink:

There is one serious problem I see with this concept....

I have chosen to promote AFF over the last couple of years, as I felt that this site showed a degree of integrity that isn't always present on a number of the other adult sites or dating sites.

This type of ad is moving in the opposite direction. How so, you ask?

The girls or "content" used in the geo-ads are not going to be found on your site. So, now, when a customer clicks on the ad, and joins specifically to meet one of the girls in the ad..they are going to be sadly disappointed. In fact, this is no different then the other sites "seeding" the personals with a numbr of dummy personals.

This is completely different then regular ads, which show any number of pretty gals. These ads are claiming that the girls really are located in your home town...and, as I mentioned above..they aren't.

Uusally a great program...but I am disappointed at the direction you have gone with these.

I can't wait to start earning more money this is a great idea...
