" Manning, a registered nurse, favors moving the computers out of public view and would welcome a filtering system at all the stations.

"I don't see why they need to have that in the library," she said. "It's a form of entertainment, and I don't know if libraries are necessarily there to provide entertainment.
"

LOL how dare they have entertainment in a library !!!

MrJackMeHoff 11-20-2004 01:46 PM

They way its setup thats like letting your kid in a bar and being mad that drinking goes on there.

I'd like to know when are they going to fix this "First Amendment" loophole in The Constitution to prevent things like this from happening.

Seriously though , i think they should have privacy shields so others cant see what your doing. I wouldn't want my daughter seeing pictures of big shlongs on the computer next to her, but i also dont want her viewing be-headings and abortions on the computer next to her either..

But i dont think they should ban the internet And this would require that.

I think they should have filters according to the age of the user..

And filters are useless, they should have trusted sites that are allowed access and ban everything else for that filter..

Such reactions are signs of serious perversion. Honestly.

pornguy 11-20-2004 01:53 PM

There is not PORN on the internet. It is an urban legend.

Most of the libraries here, if not all have them. Unfortunate that, that one didn't

GatorB 11-20-2004 02:55 PM

Another example of a lazy parent wanting to let the government raise her kids.

For her part, Manning is making sure people know such material is available. She printed 500 fliers with her daughter's photograph and a message that such "innocent eyes" were exposed to pornography. She's distributed them outside the Gresham library,
Seeing a naked body is not harmful, but publically humiliating her by publishing and distributing fliers, with her picture on it, that says she's some sort of mentally scarred victim now sure as hell can't be good for the kid.
