I think that you should get both games because they are different enough that you will have fun with both...

I have both and I have to say Half Life 2 is by far the better game

Anyone who knows what they are talking about knows that the biggest audience for video and computer games is over 18.

That being said, it is my opinion the HL2 is better as a single player game. Doom 3 has tons of action and looks nice but it is lacking in many areas.

Shit, I'm 41 now and I still remember putting my first quarter in a Pong machine 30 years ago. I grew up with them and I'll always find time to play. Having three boys between 14 and 21 kind of makes videogaming a mandatory activity, anyway.
