apache tweaking vs tgp sites...

ever had a problem with your trades get productive then when you get to the exact number of hits in it go to shit.

someone once said that it has to do something with the apach and that changing your apache config will cause your trades to grow...

anyone knows more about this ?

How fast your site loads will affect your site's productivity.

In fact, when relying on traded traffic this can be one of the most important factors. When a surfer clicks a thumb on a trade and gets your site, if your site doesn't load as fast as any gallery then the surfer might be prone to just leaving your site without clicking on anything.

So yes, optimizing your web server and your pages/images for fast loading should be one of your top priorities.

I'm not sure if this is it, but if your site goes to shit when you hit a certain number of visitors, you might check to have them bump up a max connections setting where if it's set too low, it could be a problem. If you search for "Apache Max Connections", you can get some info on it.

mod_gzip for Apache could help (compression) speed things up.

Increasing spare servers, MaxClients et all in http.conf should help you out too.

Funny this thread is here...I just spent the last 10 hours working in Apache and with httpd. Here are some great resources for your Mods and Directives.

The key is streamline'n the enviroment to capture your data without overhead mods running.
