They plan to accomplish this by cancelling the departure of those scheduled to leave while new troops are brought in. Heaven forbid there is a problem outside Iraq any time soon...

They are also recalling retired service men. It turns out if after retiring you didn't officialy resign you can be recalled.

I can't imagine working in my work shop at 50+ years old trying to lead a normal life and getting called back to go to fuckin Iraq.
