Yeah, I like snow. Of course, its easy to say that when its 90 and sunny, but I am looking forward to going back to Michigan for a month and enjoying a change in weather.

KRL 11-18-2004 02:13 AM

I don't know how you guys up that far North deal with those chillin temps.

I'm cold now in Florida and its about 65 degrees out.

hehe winter is only hard when you have to wake up everyday at 6am and go to work....then you have to shovel the whole drive-way to get out...arghhhhhhh

fortunatly I don't have to do that! :Graucho so yeah, I don't mind winter! ;)

it's a total playground out here. don't need to go anywhere, and it's only steps to the gondola, and the best virgin snow around for riding.

i can't wait till my subaru is ready to go next week :)

You don't feel kind of contained though when its like that and you're all snowed in?

fuzebox 11-18-2004 02:25 AM

I stick to the local mountains usually...

hell no. you are never contained out here. the village here has absolutely everything (including some of the very best restuarants in the world), the best hotels, the best of everything. most of it within walking distance. that's another thing i love about Whistler, the proximity to absolutely everything.

Whistler is like a winter wonderland right out of a movie... There is tons to do, and everything you need is within walking distance. The city is loaded with people and has regular events, so it's like one big party.

You're also a 2 hour drive from Vancouver, the largest city in western Canada.

Tat2Jr 11-18-2004 02:28 AM

Brrrrrrrrrr! I'm sorry, I'll stick to laying by the pool each day. Gotta love our 80° winters here in the desert. I think snow is really pretty..... when I see it in a movie!

xclusive 11-18-2004 02:28 AM

I have a bad feeling that this is going to be one of the worst winters ever...

damn nice....here on the east coast (of canada)...there's a couple of shitty mountains...nothing really big...
When you travel a bit to the south there are some nice mountains...in vermont for example....but damn are you guys blessed on the west coast for kickass snowboarding/skiing locations... nothing around here can even compare....

I used to go up to Lake Arrowhead and one time they got a snow load of a storm and the roads were all impassable going back down the mountain and they have pretty much the basics up there as well, but I was concerned what if we had an emergency situation and needed to get to a hospital. You're completely shit out of luck.

Trixxxia 11-18-2004 09:22 AM

I don't know about anywhere else as I haven't heard horror stories, but we're quite prepared - at least in Montreal we are. Streets are cleaned quite quickly - winter tires, highways and roads to hospitals get salt or sand the fastest. Even in the mountains most of the main roads are cleaned up quickly. Winter is beautiful if you don't have to walk long distances when it's 30 below 0 with a windchill factor of -45 :)
