I've tested your system, and am a wee bit confused on the Self Selling file option. I have tried your demo, and then tried the various linking codes available in the affiliate area.

On my system, the SST does not show a trailer. Instead, as soon as the popup window is launched, it goes straight to "aquiring license" and then pops up the purchase options. But, a trailer is not shown.

Is this the way it is supposed to work?

Thanks

Thanks for the offer, but I would rather see the answer simply posted here, where it can help other affiliates as well.

sure its very simple. some of the movies dont all have trailers yet. they will all have trailers very shortly. we have a crew of people working on them all. we have dealt with a massive amount of content in a very short period of time. if you like i will send you a list of all the movies which have the trailers (which is the majority of them), and i can notify you when the entire lot is completed.

also, my email is airek at videopass dot com, in my original post to you i put airek at adult dot com. LOL. i was subliminally thinking his name because i was on ICQ with him talking about my new banner for this promotion.

our hosted galleries are coming out sometime next week, there will be 100's at first and 1000's shortly thereafter to promote every title onthe site individually or by genre niche.

i hope this helps.

Also, TrailerPass is a super effective tool for you to use to better target your traffic.

You can send your surfers directly to this page so they can choose any 3 trailers to view from our wide selection of niches/categories or you can link directly to each niche individually.

This page is excellent for exit consoles and 404 pages, and a perfect destination for any kind of traffic you have. Use it to filter your traffic down to what THEY are looking for!

Just a couple of things you may want to look into.

First, I figured out the primary reason why none of the SST popups were showing trailers. They required me to download a file from Microsoft to update a license file. And, of course, sceptical of anything that a pop-up asks me to download, I refused the update.

Now, the problem is, I keep my system updated. I am using WMP 10 and XP sp2. So, I can only assume that every surfer that gets to your new pop-ups will also first be required to upgrade their WMP. Which will effectively scare off 99% of the potential clients.

So, my point is, on your test systems, everything probably works fine...but in the real world where everyones' system is not upgraded to the newest and greates, there could be problems.

Npw, on to the second problem. I have tested your 404 page, http://main.videopass.com/t/404/?act...&type=Straight

If you try to click on most of the boxes, a error is returned saying that the file does not match the file extension.

Just a few kinks to work out.

As a side note, I seem to spend a great deal of time working with different programs, when I find bugs in their systems. And comparatively speaking, the errors above are minor. So my question is, do any of you even look at a program before you promote it?

DIH 11-17-2004 06:32 PM

yes In fact I test them throughly before I send clients to a product to make sure of this one rule/question....

WOULD I BUY A MEMBERSHIP TO THIS SITE? Does it have enough content/variety?

I noticed that problem too with the trailers/self selling files but the truth is thats not how I promote the product so I didnt really care. However I sometimes find bugs as I just did not too long ago and I hit up the people I needed to talk to quite quickly over at VP.

This program is new indeed its coming along nicely. and remember this even AEBN had problems when they first got started. TRUST ME, Ive been talking to management over at VP... and things are just getting started. Props to marty, jstyles, airek, and aly al hehe Keep up the good work and keep stepping on the bugs when they show their heads.

One of the only suggestions I had was better content selection (ie... not buying that fatdog/cherrybox/247 content) as its not the mosk jack offable stuff (maybe some of the newer ones) but hey. I would hope that in the future they grab some of that evasive angles/ttboy shit as that would surely ring the register :)

Id give um
:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup & 1/2 :thumbsup

In your first post you said you got the pitch to buy... If you've viewed a DRM clip before that's exactly how its supposed to work. And as Airek said the reason some go straight to the pitch page, is the lack of trailers on those certain titles. We will soon be giving an option to only link to the movies that have trailers. I don't see how you refused the download if you admit to seeing the pitch page?

you betcha, alot of those deals are already in the works. if anyone has ever dealt with the really big studios, they don't make decisions overnight. we are very close to closing deals with several large studios and that stuff is just a matter of time. everyone loves money, and the big studios are no exception. we will have 10's of thousnads of movies in this system when itsall said and done. content is an expensive business and you must play your cards right when dealing with it. stages actually. our production flow is peaked out as much as it can be at this point.

i need to be cloned.

LOL

As always, I think, why the hell do I try and help. This is where you say thanks, and not question my methods.

So, I repeat, I DID NOT SEE ANY TRAILERS...is this understandable so far?
I have tried 20 of your links on your links page. NONE OF THEM show trailers either. And yes, I am aware that you have not finished all of your trailers yet. But, the way I see it, not all = none.

What I did see was the download...which is what I am questioning. Why the hell would you think that a surfer will accept a download from you...most will simply close the page. MY point being...don't make the surfer download a "license" file BEFORE you've even sold them on anything. O.K., are we still following along?

And, then there is the issue with the boxes on the 404 page. I received the error I mentioned above...and no, I'm not going to restate it.

From here, it's up to you.

Thanks, but to trouble shoot its nice to question methods, that's all. Since you didn't answer my question, no big deal and we'll just move on bro, no hard feelings really, and If i came off strong it was totally taken the wrong way. This IS just text. As far as not all = none is totally understandable. Later this week we will have a link that only displays the movies with trailers to fix the problem and we are talkin about trailers with out drm to resolve this issue for you.

As far as the 404 page, what browser are you using may i ask? Just trying to assist bro! :) I tested it in IE, firefox, mozilla, netscape, and opera and I am not getting an error... when clicking the box cover, instead it is playing the trailer...

49thParallel 11-17-2004 07:22 PM

No problem....

I am running into the issued mentioned with the 404 link I provided with I.E. Build 6, XP SP2.

As a side note, I did answer your question in both the initial post and my reply. I didn't see trailers at any point. And I DID refuse the license. And that could be very well why I am also not seeing the trailers on the 404 page.

Hope that helps.
