Dude, this is an adult webmaster board, it would be better to go where the music producers hang out:

for audio/video editing. Theres also a protools lite version that runs on a computer without protools hardware and uses standard devices like your soundcard etc.. But thats like playing microsoft flight simulator without a real airplane.. What do you need it for? |
I actually use Nuendo. It works well for what I use it for. If I ever start using it for more serious/professional stuff I'll pick up protools.
|
I know a little bit about protools, as far as how to use it, my buddy is a fairly well known producer, made it on the Black Album, I was chillin with him for a couple of years prior to that release and he showed me a lot of what he does and how he does it. Havent tried it myself tho, that rig costs a pretty penny, especially with the G5 and a 21' cinema screen.

I intended to use that for sequencing and pre-recording only but for audio theres not much difference in possibilities between an expanded logic audio rig ($12k or so) and a basic PT setup ($40k+). I have both setups and found myself using logic for everything 90% of the time. I do use a lot of outboard gear so i dont have the need for a lot of plugins: an area in which PT simply rules ;) |
what do you need to know about it I may be able to help.
