gammacash and others stealing your signups!

I accidentally installed a toolbar gammacash is offering as a 15 cent per install from the affiliate area..

All this tool seems to do is replace the affiliate code for many paysites with their own and i assume other tools from other programs work using the same strategy..

Isnt this just plain wrong and theft?

If it`s true that`s very bad for them. But many people on this board promote this stuff.

Mack 11-17-2004 10:32 AM

I am not installing anything, can someone verify this?

FilthyRob 11-17-2004 10:33 AM

Tool bars are just fucking evil

hjnet 11-17-2004 10:34 AM

That's an interesting theory, proof?

MrThumbs,

This is Karl from GammaCash/ToolbarCash.

The only links we insert with our affiliate code are links in the Favorites of people that install our toolbar.

I would be pissed if anyone would replace my codes with theirs, so that's indeed something we would never consider doing.

Can you explain to everyone here how you came to that conclusion? These are very serious accusation.

Karl

Thank you for the explanation Karl, I appreciate it.

BUMP

because i am also curious as to what happened.

i think he just meant the favourites links have sites that arent gammacash with gammacash's ref codes..

Thats a fair deal. I demo'd an install a few months ago and the toolbar is pretty legit as far as i saw. It even has an uninstall.

Proof?

What else do you think these "toolbars" are doing?
