Thanks! Yep, I'm in love with my new camera, and Sunny. Plus, that red wall just totally kicks ass. My pics and videos have really gotten much much better this year.

damn, those are really good for video grabs.

The trick to getting video grabs this good is to shoot in progressive mode.

Yeah, those are nice.

Sunny is cute. But that's as far as I go. Not sure what the big fuss is about.

But in that mode you're only getting 15fps. Does the video look choppy?

I've always kept the progressive mode set to Off on my VX-2000 and I've never experimented with it since I read that the video wouldn't look smooth.

Nope, video doesn't look choppy at all. I've never had one person notice anything "wrong" with the videos, and I've been shooting in Progressive mode since 1998 (with the TRV900 before I got my VX2100). You're right, it is 15 fps, but they are doubled, so it's still 30 fps, just each frame is shown twice in a row.

I've got the VX2000 and I've done a little experimentation shooting in diffierent modes. As much as I love the Sony products I wish they'd come out with a camera with a higher frame rate in progressive scan mode. The screen caps in progressive scan do look incredible and 15FPS is fine for web based video. However, if you try to cut a video (VHS or DVD) to be watched on a television it has a very bizarre effect (I guess you could say it's kinda jerky).

BTW, Sunny's looking hot as usual!
