*** domain in REDEMPTION PERIOD *** - how to renew it ?

Ok, if a domain is in redemption period and expires in 3 weeks, how does the owner has to renew it ( or transfer to someone else asap )

Just the usual way, or does he has to fax some stuff to the registrar etc, as someone told me ?

Depends on your registrar. Call them.

Most likely you will have to renew with the current registrar. Try "just the usual way" first, if that doesnt work, email them or call them.

With my registrar, 'redemption' period means I pay them 99. to redeem it during that time period. Then, they graciously give it back to me.

I try very hard not to wait that long.

I would just call them.

If you used directnic, you'd be able to renew it for the regular price during the redemption period. I had to do it once.

What's your registrar? They all have different policies...

Not "most likely". After a com/net domain has passed its expiree date it cannot be transfered (while expired). Redemption Period will generally cost you $80-$200 to renew and some will allow this online, and some will not. If you let the domain lapse past redemption there is no last stage so I urge you to deal with this issue ASAP.
