so i buy this shit at best buy this morning, excited as hell cause
the videos looked pimp as hell.

i get it, on the 4th CD install, i get some fucking File Corrupted
error with ico2.bullshit. i try on 2 other pcs, same, fuck it.

so, i get my ass up and go to a different best buy in a different
city, hoping they didn't get some bad batch.

new CDs, same bullshit. on 4th cd, it crashes with some fucked
up error.

even their STEAM crap is down, i can't fucking register a new
account cause its overloaded and gives me server authentication
errors.

err. such a long wait for a buggy piece of shit.

anyone else have the same problem?

yeah. i am. the attention to details and graphics on this game
are amazing. can't wait to play it.

have you tried to do a manual install? (rip the CDs and unpack them yourself)

i don't think that will work well, there are 5 CDs, and the
setup file is ran through a different setup file STEAM that
has some special shit for activating the game.

i think the easiest way out is just to download the bitch off
their site, but the damn thing is slow as all hell..

Steam has been down all day, they're 3000mbit connection is maxed out.

Ive had it installed for a little while now today, but I FINALLY JUST got through with registering the cd key with steam, in seconds i will be playing. :thumbsup

i think i figured out the CD problem.

you have to install Counter Strike Source or else you'll get the
bullshit errors, at least that's what their new help file says.

"If you receive one of these errors you will need to do the following:

Cancel the current installation process and reinstall the game from the beginning, starting with Disk #1. Make certain to select the option to install both Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source."

took a few fucking hours to find it on that slow shit site of
theirs, they should have anticipated this and gotten faster
connections, lol, (if that's possible).

thats the key, I don't think anyone could have anticipated the amount of traffic they are getting right now... thehun ain't got shit on valve :)

I bought it awhile ago, but actually forgot to preload it. None the less, I was able to download it and install it from steam in about 3 hours last night. Played it a bunch after, it's great.
