LG Develops First Mobile Phone With Satellite TV Built-In
Wow!
http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...lt-340x299.jpg SEOUL (AFP) - South Korea's LG Electronics Inc announced that it has developed the world's first mobile handset capable of receiving terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasts (DMB). The group said it had resolved problems surrounding the bulky terminal size and power consumption of previous terrestrial DMB terminals, which lacked mobile phone functions. "This terrestrial DMB phone has opened up a new world where people can watch terrestrial DMB TV and simultaneously speak via a mobile phone," said Woo Paik, chief technology officer of LG Electronics. LG Electronics built a standard home TV antenna function into the new phone to receive broadband DMB. The group invested 20 billion won (18.3 million dollars) over two years to develop the terrestrial DMB phone. Some 130 researchers were involved in the project. |
Wow kick ass phone :thumbsup

At first I thought LG was some cheap knockoff cell phone company but I found out that they make all kinds of electronics. One of my friends has an LG phone and it is pretty decent.
I won't replace my Ericsson with it but if I wanted a cell phone on the cheap, I'd get an LG. |
:BangBang: What a shame its made by LG, i have had LG products before and they were poor quality.
Looks like a nice toy though... :1orglaugh www.LionDollars.com - FREE XBOX's & MINI IPOD's for EVERYONE! |
That's great news :thumbsup
But who will develop new batteries that can hold couple of weeks? I think batteries are the worst developed parts in such devices. |
Nice phone but i like the girl holding it better,

Satellite != terrestrial

looks flash, but not worth it if it has to be put on charge every 20 mins
