What's The Name Of The Security Thing ...
 

i've forgotten the term for that security feature on many websites where you have to type in the letters/numbers you see on a little image to go further - one of you smarter chimps must know it. spit it out!

The name is one the tip of my tongue right now, but I can't pin it down.

shit its on the tip of my tongue but can't spit it out for the life of me, though i've seen a few different names.

i spent a week trying to put a CAPTCHA on a blog, bad ass

if you do get a captcha, make sure it has some sort of distortion to the font and it's using alpha/numeric stuff, because from what i know spammers have been able to figure it out, or at least the simpler versions of it

They just need some OCR (optical character recognition) software and isn't too hard if you just create simple images (no bg noise, no arcs, only one font....).

Then again, if they are too complicated your visitors won't figure them out either.
