they are cops.... parks and campgrounds only have rangers.. which have just about the same power as cops :2 cents:

The US Forest service has it's own set of rules that are mainly for enforement of natural resources. Rangers don't have the ability to arrest anyone. They have the ability to detain, cite, and if necessary hold for county law enforcement if a misd of felony is committed.

he was a ranger, not a park ranger.... and they have more juristiction than cops do :thumbsup
