Roppongi is an area in Tokyo with many bars and clubs. Many gaijin (foreigners) go there and many Japanese girls that like foreigners go there as well. There are definitely better places in Tokyo to go out but if you don't know anybody there and don't speak Japanese it's still the best place to go IMHO. But you have to be careful, in the last years more and more hookers hang out there as well.
