How many visitor can this pull?
Can anyone tell me how many visitors a dedicated server like this can handle daily:
CPU: PIII 800Mhz Memory: 256 MB Don't know if it's possible to tell from the info above, but thats what I know. |
there are SO MANY variables in deciding how many hits/transfer a server can output.
It depends on type of traffic (ie. HTML, images, video, steady traffic vs. spikes) as well as HDD speed. Sometimes CPU and RAM can handle it but harddrives die. It also matters how well your Apache in configued and how much CGI/PHP/MYSQL etc.. you're running. 256 is VERY little memory for a server. My home PC has 512. With a Raq 4 450Mhz 512MB ram we pulled about 1.7Mbits, that's about 500GB of traffic a month but it was IDE and only 450Mhz I know that a SCSI, 1GhZ CPU, 2GB RAM with no shtml, Cgi, php etc.. can pull about 1.5 million freehost uniques. |
Enough, also depends on so many other variables. But it should handle enough.
Beef up on the ram though, ram is dirt cheap.. and 256 is not much : () |
