basic server admin tutorials?
 
i seek some online resources that will teach me some basic stuff on apache and mysql. i don't look for an admin, just for some DIY guidelines.

1) Get SecureCRT and install it on your desktop: https://secure.vandyke.com/cgi-bin/d...DUCT=SecureCRT

2) Use the IP, username and password provided by your host and log into your server with the help of SecureCRT using the "SSH2" mode

3) Once your logged into your server type

su [Enter]
your_root_password (won't be shown while typing) [Enter]
cd /tmp [Enter]
wget http://aleron.dl.sourceforge.net/sou...0-1.noarch.rpm [Enter]
rpm -U webmin-1.170-1.noarch.rpm [Enter]


4) Now surf with your browser to http://IP_of_your_server:10000/

use "root" as username and the root password provided by your host, as password, to login into webmin at the address mentioned above

5) Now you can configure everything like Apache, MySQL etc through webmin
