We have a PC running Windows 2000 Professional that shows about 80% on "system idle process" on the windows task manager but the "performance" meter is showing about 80% used and the PC runs like shit... What is this and how do we get it out...

Everyday and I mean "EVERYDAY", I run Adaware, HJT, SpySweeper, SpySweeper and 1 of the free online virus scanners. Good Luck!

I also run adaware and spybot every day. Plus my Norton Internet security is always running. TrendMicros online virus scan rocks!!

Also use Mozilla Firefox browser....no shit coming in that way.

yeah i got nailed with a toolbar autoinstaller at a site i visited today, fucking pain in the ass, time to use mozilla as primary browser now.

I just bought Spyware Doctor..cleaned up a bunch I thought was removed..cost 40 bucks but it was worth it

Already tried Ad-Aware, Norton SystemWorks, AVG 6.0, Trojan Remover, Bullet Proof Software - Spy Ware Remover and so far none have fixed the problem.

For all we know it could be a Windows problem.

Just disconnect your computer from the internet and you will never get any spyware again!

In task manager, click on the process tab and see what's using the most resources and see if you can end that program. Then run hijackthis and del it.

"system idle process" is using the most CPU and you can't end it. The "performance" graph show 80% to 90% while the "system idle process" show 80% to 90%. Conflicting information.
