CNN has been reporting (and I quote) "Falwell blames pagans, gays, lesbians, feminists, and abortionists for the terrorist attacks in NYC and DC"

I assume he means that these groups have caused God to punish us, not that these groups actually carried out the attacks.

I didn't hear him say it, but what I wrote is a direct quote from the CNN ticker that scrolls across the bottom of the TV screen. Hard to imagine they would make something like that up.

What is really scary, is that if Osama Bin Laden is behind the attack, he did it because he thinks God (Allah) wants to inflict death and suffering on citizens of the evil US -- and apparently Falwell agrees with him (except that Falwell thinks it's HIS God, not Allah, who is behind all this).

How can someone think like that?? It's sick.

I'm pretty sure that Falwell is the single-most winner of Hustler magazine's "Asshole of the month" award, and for good reason. He's a "holier-than-thou" judgmentalist that not only exersises his own right to disallow porn and reject pornography in general (I have no problem with this basic human right), but he appoints himself as "guardian of the Earth's morals" by trying to remove porn from EVERYONE'S view or reach. THAT is what I find to be very much NOT acceptable. As adults, do you or I really need this asshole to decide what is okay for us to view? I seem to remember a reverend like himself back in the 70's that was instructing kids to burn their rock records, saying that he find's rock objectionable because it has a "jungle-like primitive beat."
What an utter crock of shit these so-called tele-vangellists are.

Now he's taking it upon himself to lay false blame. One of the first things I notice and dislike about people of Falwell's ilk is that instead of taking action and supporting relief efforts with their millions, he/they tend to waste time trying to lay blame, and he does so only to serve his own purposes and to get his name in the limelight.

I'm sure that most intelligent individuals will see right through Falwell's brand of religion, and we'll realize that much of the real horror and violence in this world lately is in fact BECAUSE of religion, differing religions, and religious leaders that make such defamatory and false allegations as this.

Fuck Falwell.

However blaming pagans, gays, lesbians, feminists, and abortionists for the terrorist attacks in NYC and DC is what I'm referring to. Falwell's hatred is as intense as these militant fundamentalists. Thankfully Falwell doesn't use such violent means to display his hatred (though you'll find plenty of folks who consider his 'preachings' a contributing factor to abortion clinic bombings and gay men being strapped to fences in rural Wyoming)

The Reverend Jerry Falwell and his hatred is a complete and utter disgrace to christianity, not unlike these terrorists' hatred is a disgrace to Islam. That's all I'm saying.

Falwell is evil. Not blow up buildings evil but evil in a different way. He promotes hatrid. He is the person that popularised the phrase 'God said Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve'.

He campaigned amongst our leaders to stop funding of AIDS treatment and prevention programs unless they #1 only taught abstinence and #2 didn't share funding with any gay groups.

True story - when I was being scouted by colleges in the senior year of High School, Falwell's university, Liberty University took an interest in me. They called my home every single day for a month. They sent me videos after videos about life on campus.

One day I sat down and watched the videos and noticed that none of the women were wearing slacks. I asked my phone stalkers if that was just a coincedence and they told me no. Infact women were not ALLOWED to wear slacks.

I told them that I would only go if I could wear hot pants to class. For some reason they stopped calling after that.
