Why is it twitching so much?

My mouse cursor that is..it keeps MOVING up to the top of the screen. Nothing I can do stops it and I've checked for virii and found nilch.

Anyone ever have a runaway pointer like this before?

Rantan 11-13-2004 12:29 AM

Well penicillin is a possibility..or castration..but if ANYONE has an idea how to stop a runaway mouse erection let me know.

It's making me seasick!!

Do you have a graphics tablet? Mine does that when the pen from my graphics tablet is on the tablet instead of in the stand.

I thought before it could just be the vibrations..but nooo..that ain't it unfortunately. I've moved it in every position I know (dang..why does this sound so sexual? grin) and it still keeps heading north on me.

Sigh..

change mouse.
They have limited life and they start fucking up like that. Just get a new one and problem solved.
It happened to a friend and a new $9 mouse solved the issue.

Optical? if the surface the mouse is on doesn't change much it can cause random/jerky movements, I had one that did that and placed it on a mousepad that had lots of microdots on it -- which stopped the behavior.

Is it s notebook?

IBM and others used the same cheap ass defective parts for years for their trackpoints.

If it's a notebook with a trackpoint, update your software for the trackpoint to the latest versions... a couple manufacturers put in some software fixes to balance out the ill effects of the defective parts.

Neither an optical or a notebook.
Think maybe it is time for a $9 replacement.

check if your optical reader is clean.. would happen to me when a cat hair would go there.. it keeps on moving fast thus the mouse goes nuts.

bizmak 11-13-2004 03:13 AM

change it.
