Help with my ICQ!! Please!

Most of the people (not all, but most) that I message on ICQ...it just hangs. I hit send and just stays here....and eventually times out and says it couldn't send the message.

firewall? antivirus?
scan your PC for spyware.
check ICQ's help files

try deleting some history, icq has a limit that if you reach it .. the program starts acting up
