what is a Spanish Omelette?
I thought it was eggs with fried potatoes and onions all cooked slowly together, but I went to a restaurant here in Mexico and they gave me a fucked up omelette with chorizo, ham, cheese, and a boat load of other crap.
So WTF is a Spanish Omelette then? |
A Spanish omelette is from SPAIN. Your in Mexico where they have their own version.
|
yeah, but since it is called a Spanish Omelette, even in a Mexican menu, I thought they'd stick to the original version...
I gotta go back to Miami! (never been to Spain, so I don't know what they taste like there. but in Miami they are excellent) |
Spanish Omelette (tortilla espanola) and also known as a potato omelette (tortilla de patatas) using eggs and potatoes only.

an omelette made by a mexican ?
|
Okay, having some spanish ascendance, I would say that there is no such thing as a spanish omelete. What is typical is tortilla espaņola, which has nothing to do with mexican tortillas.
The tortilla espaņola it's made with potatoes boiled in oil, then drained, add some onions, beaten eggs and chorizo colorado - a sausage - cook until is firm yet a bit juicy. You can eat it hot or just cold. It should have the size of a frying pan and about 5 inches high. Remember that mexicans hate spanish so.........LOL Nik:winkwink: |
a naked spanish chick makes it?
