The elections don't work like that. This is a parlimentry system of government as as such the only people that get to vote for Blair are the people he represents in his district (to use an American term). The party that gets the most MPs voted into the House Of Commons gets to be 'in government' and then that party pics a leader who will be Prime Minister. The party could kick Blair out as leader and still be in charge. That is why after Maggie Thatcher stepped down John Major just took over without a national election.

The Labour Party (Blair's party) has such a large majority of seats that the likelyhood of another party getting more than them in the next national election (which will be sometime this year..Blair has to say when) is very slim. However, wether Blair will stay the leader until the election after this next one is doubtful. Many people think that he will step down a few years into his next term and possibly hand over leadership of the Labour Party to Gordon Brown.
