Password Protection

I'm looking into other options for password protection/brute force/trading
What do you guys use other than pennywize. I need a program that checks for username as well as the password a user logs in with in order to ban them.

Had it installed earlier this year and not one problem since.

I have proxy pass and password sentry.

Been using Password Sentry on all my sites for about a year and a half...no problems at all. I'd have to say it's the best :thumbsup

people that use .htaccess are fools :)

if you were to use are form login, you would be more safe.

yup, referer-based authentication is bad too...it's funny that most of the streaming plugin sponsors use it...I've had access to all the big ones for years, don't use it though...nice to see what they are really selling though

Dugan 11-11-2004 09:31 AM

whats a form login?

Because most streaming/plugin sponsors get paid based on the amount of bandwidth based on referral, if you pay more they don't mind. Its only when you start ripping them off your sites that they seem to mind.

I used iProtect for a while - it worked ok.

Now I have my members areas monitored by humans in real time - we can see and catch problems (unauthorized access, password sharing, potentially fraudulent signups) before they become serious issues using proprietary fuzzy logic on surfer behaviour.
