The attack the USA just suffered should be considered to be an Act of War. The loss of life may top the other greatest loss of life in a single day, which took place during a battle in our Civil War. The monetary loss when all is said an done will probably be in the hundreds of billions of dollars. The replacement cost of the loss of property will be in the billions. The cost to the insurance companies will be in the tens of billions of dollars, for life insurance policies alone. In addition there will be property insurance, and of course the civil attorneys will get involved particularly against the Airlines. Since the bulk of the businesses in the towers was investment firms, the loss of records, is indeterminable in monetary loss. The replacement of thousands of skilled workers is indeterminable in monetary loss. The cost of the rescue and clean up will be tens of millions. The cost of increased security measures in the long run will be hundreds of millions. Economists are stating that a fourth quarter recovery for our economy is now nonexistent. The stock markets are falling and recession is being predicted. It is the blackest day in US history. It could have been worse, as a small nuclear device would have taken millions of life, and/or chemical/biological devices would perform the same function. If these Terrorists organizations are not put down it is not a question of, if weapons of mass destruction will be used, but a question of when they will be used.

For the first time since the Second World War the President needs to ask congress for an official declaration of War. The declaration should be against Terrorists and any country that give sanction to Terrorists. Our country should be put on a wartime footing and be prepared for an extended use of massive Military power against our enemies until they cease to exist. We are the richest most powerful country on the Earth and we have, by far, the most powerful Military on the Earth and the time is now, for us to let the entire World know what the consequences are for attacking the United States of America.

That's been my point all day.

This whole "harboring terrorists" is just a convenient way for the US to be justified and declare war on whoever they want to -- whenever we want to -- it's like an ace in the hole.

I think the american government (Bush and Powell) have made a large mistake by using the word ´war´ in their speeches. By using the word ´war´ they have blocked out any other options to do justice. They have forced themselfs into a postion where there is no way back! If they will chose not to wage war to retaliate they will lose a lot of support and faith from the american people.

one of the main things we learn our children ,when they have an argument with their friends is to take it easy. If their mad, let them calm down and then solve the problems. Madness and anger keeps people from thinking rationally which makes a lot of sense. Therefor i think it is wise for the US governemnt to ´take a break´ patiently review their options. get all the pieces of the puzzle together and THEN take action.

You are being very simplistic and it's not getting your point through very well. Sometimes that child get's punched in the face once too often and must take action swiftly agains the bully and kick his fucking ass around the block, then usually the bully never bothers the kid again.

So to in this major issue, the U.S. government DOES seem to be taking the time to determine exactly who is responsible for this, and they are saying that once that is accomplished they will move against those people. I for one see nothing wrong with the way things are being handled so far, and to put out publicly the fact that they consider these acts to be acts of war is mostly to put fear into countries that may be harboring the ones that are behind these attacks. Do you follow me here? Do you understand me? Are my words penetrating your though processors?

There are times when sitting on your ass and waiting and thinking is useless. Some situations call for ACTION, and when the U.S. military is ready to move on those that did this I'll be behind them 100%, and if another donation or banner or anything is required to help, I'm on it.

We have the capability to cause any country, that gives sanction to Terrorists, to cease to exist, for all practical purposes. This can be accomplished without nukes via extended massive use of our military, but if we felt a need to, we would use nukes.
